Happy New Year, everyone!
I know I am only 12 days late wishing you the best for this new year, but hey! it's better late than never, right?
2017 certainly was a year of building and learning. It has been a year since I quit my job to pursue this crazy dream of mine. Working in the crazy startup world for a few years, I wore many multiple hats in the workplace. Certainly, that was quite stressful. At the same time, it made me more knowledgeable and aware of things. I realized that I had better ideas than my boss. I kept thinking, I can do this. And also, how cool would it be to be my own boss.
Re-taking calligraphy during that time as a creative outlet was incredibly therapeutic for me. I LOVED it! You know when you find someone you really, REALLY like and you think about them all the time and all you want to do is hang out with them? That's how I felt. I was falling in love with this art. I didn't even realize it then, but during all the times I decided to practice, improve and try to be better at my practice and the business, I was planting seeds. I was planting seeds of confidence, experience, knowledge, and trust in myself. They are all flourishing now, and I am so looking forward to keep planting, improving and harvesting them all. I think I am able to do that because I LOVE it. I love being my own boss. I love doing business. I love creating things I love with Calligraphy. I love that you love what I love. Haha. However, It's not easy. I don't love all the stress that comes with it. But, it is way better than the stress I used to feel at my old workplace.
I am only telling you this because I want you to know, the impact that you have made in my life. I thank you so gracefully for liking what I do, and for shopping from a small business. I work harder than I have ever worked in my life, and I have no complaints. It makes me so happy to do so because I know that I am either passing this passion of mine to someone through my classes, or you are using my art, in something that makes you the happiest, like in your wedding.
My wish to you for 2018 is to take some time for yourself. Life is very busy and sometimes, we just get caught up in our daily routine. Find something that becomes your "me" time, your passion. Accidentally, I found that to be calligraphy for me. You just need to look for it. It's there! If you already have a passion, hold it tight. Don't let go and share it with the world.
Because life is a crazy roller coaster sometimes, this print was made to bring calm and relaxation.
